Tote-est with the Mostest
Origin: Cambodia
Cambodia Volunteers for Community Development
This multi-use handbag is made with deeply-colored, lush silk and the traditional Khmer hol and phamuong patterns that are now so fashionable. Complete with a top button closure, the tote is silk-lined inside and contains an exterior large, zippered pocket. The sturdy design and spacious size means you can carry all your necessities—magazines, books and more. The bag is created by women from urban slum communities around Phnom Penh who were able to recover from sexual exploitation and the aftermath of war to create a successful sewing cooperative. Your purchase of this tote will contribute to the advancement of sewing cooperatives, informal education programs to underserved children, and literacy and job skills training to those affected by landmines in Cambodia.
