Grantmaking: The Community Fund
Global Goods Partners’ (GGP) capacity-building grants program—supported by profits from product sales, private donations, and foundation funding—aims to help our partners better achieve their overall objectives. Grants, ranging from $500 to $2,000, focus on two areas: the improvement and expansion of income-generating enterprises; and the strengthening of community development programs, including economic advancement and job creation, education and training, health education and services, and women’s rights and empowerment. GGP strives to create open partnerships, providing tailored support that responds to the most critical needs of each organization and fostering sustainable, independent programs.
Market Readiness Grants provide inputs, assistance, and training that improve product development, quality control, and export and shipping procedures. The goal of these grants goes beyond improving the quality of products sold by GGP. More importantly, these grants assist our partners in building stronger sales, marketing, and exporting mechanisms, allowing them to acquire additional international and local clients.
Community Development Grants support our partners in building capacity and increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of their not-for-profit social programs. Grants can be used for salary support, third-party trainings or evaluations, the purchase of materials, ongoing project support, or other improvements to the operations of community-development programs. In some cases, these small grants serve as steppingstones for our partners to acquire larger funds from international development foundations.
Travel Grants and other small funds are available to partners who require financial assistance to strengthen national and international networks, learn about new models and ideas, and raise their profile within the international development and social enterprise communities.
