Support Afghan Women Marching for Peace
On March 8th, in Kandahar—the most violent Province in Afghanistan—1,500 women will march for peace in protest of the over 5,000 innocent civilians who have been killed since 2001. Tired of watching their families killed in the ongoing violence, these Afghan women will each sign a petition of peace to be presented to President Karzai and the United Nations.
As GGP celebrates International Women’s Day this year, we give special acknowledgement to our partners in Afghanistan. As the situation worsens, the work of our global partners supporting income generation opportunities for women alongside securing the provision of basic services and participating in advocacy becomes even more crucial.
Add your voice to those speaking out for peace by signing an online petition that will be delivered to the women organizers, President Karzai, and the UN
