Opitagua

Opitagua is a group of nine women and two men who came together to create a sustainable source of income by using tagua, an ivory-like nut to make green, handmade jewelry.  Opitagua was formed in July 2008. The entrepreneurs taught themselves a craft process using natural and local materials in order to engage in economic development and provide their families with a higher standard of living.
