National Museum of Women in the Arts Sunday, 2:00pm-4:00pm
From May 1 — October 1, the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC (1250 New York Avenue, NW) is hosting a Global Gallery and Marketplace. As part of the launch, the museum is having a program on Mother’s Day, May 11 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Global Goods Partners will part of an informal panel, along with representatives from Women for Women, Aid through Trade, Divine Chocolate, among others. The program will focus on how fair trade and the crafts sector is helping to empower women and expand economic opportunities for women in the developing world. A selection of products from Global Goods Partners will be available for sale as well.

World Fair Trade Day
GGP is a proud sponsor of World Fair Trade Day. On May 10, 2008, join with thousands of people in 70 countries to celebrate World Fair Trade Day. This worldwide event, organized by the Fair Trade Resource Network and the Fair Trade Towns Initiative, will highlight the benefits of Fair Trade and raise awareness of fair labor practices and environmental sustainability. GGP has joined with other sponsors of World Fair Trade Day to launch the world’s largest Fair Trade Coffee Break. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to organize a local gathering. Kassim the Dream at Tribeca Film Festival
Kassim the Dream a new film about child soldiers in Uganda is opening this month at the Tribeca Film Festival — GGP will be speaking at a special educational screening for students.
