ANNOUNCEMENT
We did it! It's official: #FairTuesday is now a global ethical consumer movement represented by almost 140 organizations in 12 countries. Together, we generated over 2,000 tweets, hundreds of Facebook posts, 50 blog posts, all of which reached a combined audience of at least 3 million people in just over five weeks.
November 27th is over, but the movement continues! Every Tuesday can be Fair Tuesday, and every day can be more fair. Together, we can become a force that will educate consumers that they have the power to create positive change. We will keep posting fair trade, eco-friendly and ethical shopping related news on Fair Tuesday's social media pages, focusing on Holiday gifts for the month of December, and invite you to participate in the conversation by posting on our Facebook page and tagging your tweets with #FairTuesday.

WHAT?
Fair Tuesday (hashtag #FairTuesday) is an ethical shopping initiative created in response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The goal of #FairTuesday is to inspire conscious consumerism and show how an everyday purchase can change lives in a whole community. We are featuring fair trade, ethical, and eco-friendly brands and inviting other businesses to take a step towards sustainability.
WHEN?
Tuesday, November 27th, 2012, dubbed "Fair Tuesday".
WHY?
Launched by @GlobalGoods, a New York-based nonprofit, fair trade organization that supports over 40 women-led artisan groups in Asia, Africa and the Americas.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT
Whether you are an individual, organization, or a member of the press, you can join the #FairTuesday movement in two simple ways: by buying one fair trade item on Tuesday, November 27th, and by helping us spread the word about the movement on social media using hashtag #FairTuesday. If you represent a non-fair-trade business, tell us what you are doing to make your practices more green and fair.
