Global Goods Partners is committed to strengthening our partners through capacity building, training, and our small grants program.
Below are a few examples of recent grants to our partners:
Our Bracelets for Change project embeds micro-grants into the price of a product. For every Bracelet for Change we sell, a portion of the funds directly split the cost with a Guatemalan woman of providing clean water, healthy food, and a safe home for her and her family. The Bracelets for Change has quickly become one of our most popular, and through sales we have raised more than $6,000 in grant funds for our Guatemalan partner Kiej de los Bosques over the past year, enabling artisans to purchase 22 smokeless stoves, 40 water filters, 19 solar kits, and 2 organic gardens.
Our partner in Peru, Mantay, runs a home for displaced young mothers and pregnant adolescents. In 2012, they needed to upgrade their facilities to accommodate their growing population. Global Goods Partners funded the construction of a new bathroom for shelter inhabitants.
Friends International in Cambodia offers comprehensive services to marginalized youth and their families, primarily children living on the street. In 2011 Global Goods Partners donated funds to buy medicine and supplies for Friends Internationals' mobile health units, which provide basic medical care to nearly 7,000 youth living and working on the streets of Phnom Penh.
In 2011 and 2012, we provided funding for literacy, financial management, and health education to 150 artisans employed by our partner in Afghanistan, Kandahar Treasure
