ARTETROPIC (Asociación de Artesanos del Tropicó de Cochabamba) is an umbrella organization of artisan associations from the coca-producing region of Chapare, Bolivia, where relations between farmers and the military are tense. Most of ARTETROPIC’s products are made by women and from locally available natural resources. ARTETROPIC provides its artisans with technical and production-quality assistance, and offers them a viable alternative to coca cultivation.
