Pampa Brava
Argentina
Pampa Brava is an Argentinian fair-trade enterprise that aims to expand opportunities for marginalized indigenous groups who face obstacles to their economic and cultural survival. Following ancestral codes of artistic expression, women artisans of the Wichí community—an indigenous people increasingly threatened by deforestation, expanded agribusiness, and general economic neglect—produce a variety of exquisitely handmade textiles from a native cactus-like plant called chaguar. Pampabrava works directly with Wichí women artisans to assist them with their livelihoods, healthcare, and educational needs.

Pampa Seed Bracelet Origin: Argentina Pampa Brava Each bracelet is hand-strung from seeds found in the Wíchi community’s native northern Argentina. In recent years, the combined presence of oil companies, loggers, and slash and burn agriculture has quickened deforestation, turning once fertile soil into desert and further harming this isolated, indigenous community. Wear a bracelet with the knowledge that your purchase is funding a GGP-supported program to train community health workers in this underserved population.
