Women’s Education for Advancement and Empowerment (WEAVE) is a community based organization that focuses on women’s empowerment through health education, literacy, income generation, and human rights and leadership training. The women who participate in WEAVE programs have been persecuted by the Burmese military regime and are refugees on the Thai-Burmese border. WEAVE’s income generation program provides women with the opportunity to further develop their craft-making skills and generate critical income for the health care and educational needs of their families.
